Wait, when you order a Cayenne Diesel, they put the steering wheel on the wrong side?
Interesting that there appears to be no 'Diesel' badging evident....
Congratulations and good luck. I am curious to see if these make it over to the US.

Thanks!
Porsche decided not to indicate anywhere on the car (other than the engine cover and inside the fuel flap) that the car is a diesel.

I really like everything about our 2008 Cayenne GTS except the mileage. I would jump in line for a diesel version of the Cayenne but so far no word that it is coming to the US .

Excuse my ignorance, but what's a BlueTec?
The motor is the 3.0 litre Audi V6 as found in the Audi's and the Touareg. Porsche has done it's own tuning.
The motor's still a little tight (only done about 700 miles) but I'm getting around 24mpg in town and 30mpg+ on the highway.

See here for a fairly cogent description: http://www.suite101.com/blog/sheryll...l_comes_to_usa

Looks good. I too am interested to see how the diesel does in the US, if it ever gets here.

TDI & Emissions
There are a couple of good videos here:
http://microsites.audiusa.com/ngw/09/experience/tdi/
The Audi 3.0 TDI engine is the same basic engine as Porsche is using. Click on the Emissions tab for a detailed description of the BlueTec system.
If Porsche does bring a diesel Cayenne into the US, it will almost certainly have an emissions system similar to its Audi Q7 cousin.

From what I can work out, it doesn't have it. The website just mentions "exhaust gas recirculation, an oxidisation catalyst, and diesel particle filter".
We tend to be a bit behind the rest of the world when it comes to emissions, although we're usually ahead with safety. Our govt tends to see emissions as another way of taxing rather than helping the environment.

If you have it, you would have an AdBlue refill port under your fuel filler door and next to the diesel fill port. See here for the Audi version:
