Default light sensor

I just tested with a flashlight, and have located the light sensor. It is behind the rearview mirror on my non auto dim mirror. It is very easy to see from the outside of the car. Looks like a bunch of clear small LED lights ... kind of where the glue should be on the base of the mirror. If you have what I have described, you have the light sensor.

This is officially my last post on the auto dim switch, until my next one ...

Just so everyone knows, rain & light sensors changed midway through the '05 model year. Later Cayennes all got the same sensor regardless of options. Earlier Cayennes had different sensors depending on equipment. So if you have an early Cayenne without the auto-dimming mirror, this might not be a plug & play switch install.

Question is now, do you all have the coming home function after plugging in the switch.

I.e. after ignition off, can you now have the lights stay on for 15,30,60 seconds. Then shut off.

Should be able to enable this in durametric...

I do not have the coming home function, but may try to program using Durametric. My headlights just go off when ignition goes off.

More importantly, Sunset Porsche has the Porsche Auto switch for $56. Talk to Bob ... part number 955613235036N3.

997s have different sensors for cars with auto-dimming mirrors and without. Also, some 997s don't even have a rain sensor.

I have the rain sensors but not the auto dimming mirrors.
Carreracup3 doesn't have the autodim but does have the sensor (led cluster)
Around the mounting bracket for the rear view.
