Still need to enable the Comfort Light option via PIWIS.

CarreraCup is gonna try with the Durametric to see if that is an option to get this function enabled.

OK everyone ... here is what happened. I plugged in my new ECS auto headlight switch, and everything worked. I made no mods with durametric. I replaced the non auto switch with the auto switch ... took maybe 10 seconds. I then switched to auto ... car was in the garage, and the lights went on. I then pulled out of the garage and the lights turned off (sunny day). I did this 5 more times to confirm and it all works perfectly. Wow what a great upgrade with no other mods, other than the correct switch. All functions on the switch work as well. Auto lights are a great feature.

I would say the only thing with this switch, is that the background lighting on the switch is red and not orange. The porsche switch may have orange .. I have no idea. The fact that this all works with no programming is the big part.

Other models may have to have the luxury lighting turned on, I have no idea.

What year is your car and what model (c2/c2s/turbo) and what options do you have?
Also do you have a link to the exact switch you purchased?

Thanks in advance!

I have a 2005 CTT.

This is the switch that I bought:http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/ES257796/ES257796/

They seem to have others that may work as well that are cheaper. http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/Auto...ght/ES2535660/

If this works on my vehicle I will be really excited - can't believe this was an option on a $120k vehicle. I ordered my part from Porsche - $110 - hopefully it works. I wanted the lighting to be the same (as you said it was red, not orange from VW).

Mine will arrive Friday - I'll post results then. Thanks CarreraCup03!

Does your CTT have an auto dimming mirror?

Does it utilize the auto dim mirror or something else to turn the lights on and off?
If you call the dealer they'll tell you if you have the option with your vin#.

I have a cayenne 06 and it does not have an autodim mirror...so Im presuming that the ambient light sensor is not built in....will have to wait for carerracup03s reply if he has an autodim rearview mirror.
