Android Head Unit & Steering Wheel controls
Looking for some insight on changing/fixing the steering wheel buttons functions with my Android head unit installed.
The Android unit has been working fine for almost a year now. When it was installed the steering wheel buttons worked right out of the box...but not 100%.
I have just lived with these "quirks" but I would like to fix them.
The volume UP/DN & mute buttons work fine.
The tuning buttons work, but for the radio they are scan, not presets, and they are reversed.."UP" tunes down, "DOWN" tunes up.
Music (symbol) will cycle through the unit sources.
"Scan" & "Man" buttons do nothing.
I have tried to use the Steering Wheel Buttons app that came with the unit. I have also installed MTCDtools as well.
In both apps when I get to the point when I need to press the button that I want to assign, it doesn't sense the button press. It should show a button number, but I get nothing.
Some of the buttons work so the steering wheel buttons and the head unit are talking.
Is there a setting I am missing to enable these button control apps?
Have you guys been able to make button changes?
Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, that is the unit I installed a couple years ago.
The question from my post was in relation to making changes to the steering wheel buttons when the Android HU is installed.
Unfortunately, I still have not been able to make any changes to the steering wheel buttons functions as described in the OP.

Apologies. I posted to the wrong thread! I got some instructions from Xtrons but been too busy to try them more than once. At the time those instructions did not work. Will be keeping a closer eye on this thread.
