I've got their RF. I like it because I can switch it between cars, and it doesn't have to be hard mounted anywhere.

Not sure if it worried you as it did me when I went to install a wired controller under the dash... have you ever seen what the knee airbag looks like deployed? Will it turn your P3 into a projectile?

The only picture I had seen of the Cayenne Knee AirBag, has the pillow exploded and seems to show the width not extending all the way to the Dr door side. I have my P3 mounted as far to the left (Dr door side) as I could get it. It seemed to be the furthest away from my legs. It does not interfere with me while driving, and also importantly does not interfere while getting in/out.

I have seen folks mount their P3's over on the console side, but for ME in my 958, that was poor placement as my right leg shin would hit it occasionally.

I'm hoping that no unfortunate event occurs, but if it does, that the P3 will be pushed over towards the door.

Supposedly the newest P2 and P3 do not need the relay (as of 2014) but I wired it with the relay and micro switch anyway.

I bought the relay and micro switch at Autozone, pretty cheap. I got a 12V 20A 5 pin relay and the 12V 20A micro switch. I followed these instructions from seabass on RennTech (http://www.renntech.org/forums/topic...comment-219937). I soldered the connections (rather than used wire nuts) and heat wrapped them and then taped it all up.

Works great - - it's an easy job. The hardest thing is digging underneath the dash for the factory trailer plug socket - I had to take off the lower dash panel to get better access to reach up into the upper dash area.

2006 Cayenne S - no factory tow package

Was trying to utilize the plug under the dash to add in a brake controller, followed the steps including the relay, but I have 0 output on the red/black brake light wire. Can't find any wire to tap into for a brake signal. Do these steps only work on vehicles with the factory tow package? Is there any signal I can use as a brake input to the controller?
