Cayenne Prodigy Brake Controller Install with Pictures

So, what's the secret? I have been trying to get a Pr. RF to work on the Touareg for quite a while now. Does your 7 way socket have 12V on the #4 pin(the pin in the 1 o'clock position)?

BTW, my neighbor with an '06 Turbo is also using the RF Prodigy with no problems.

I can check voltage in the morning. Do you mean on the Cayenne output, the trailer mounted RF Prodigy connector output to Trailer? I have my trailer wired per the diagram upper right.

Same issue as Powdercoatmike, no power on the #4 pin on the 7-way with my '13 Cayenne diesel. I checked the fuses associated with the Porsche trailer module and they are all ok. I too am trying to pair a Prodigy RF and no success yet.
Any other ideas? Thanks.

Has anyone had any experience with the Q7. I have a 2011 and am having a bitch of a time trying to find the connector under the dash. Hand is ripped to shreds. I did read a post on another forum that some guy had the tow package, but the wiring wasn't coming up to the front. If anyone can help I'd be very grateful.

I was able to get my Prodigy RF working today on my '09 Cayenne. The #7 pin has always had power, but that wasn't the issue preventing the initial pairing. I called Tekonsha and they basically said for the Cayenne that you have to find an "American" truck to pair with first. Apparently the Cayennes try to be all tricky with their voltage depending on the load applied, whereas the typical US made truck simply blasts out whatever voltage the circuit is designed for. I don't know if that makes technical sense, but that's the reason why the Tekonsha guy said to pair it with something else first. So I did today and, voila, it works! Once paired, you can put the unit in your Cayenne and adjust settings and simply use it as designed. So although the pairing is a pita, I was happy to get the unit working and think this is the way to go to avoid futzing with any factory wiring.

Hi Guys - I'd like to clarify something from the great info above: Is it just the 1st generation Cayenne models where a Prodigy will not work plugged in to the factory harness, therefore additionally requiring tapping into the brake switch? Has anyone successfully used a Prodigy controller on a 2nd Generation (2008 model) Cayenne using only the factory harness?
I already have a Prodigy controller so I'd like to not have to buy a Primus IQ (reported above by Frank to properly work) if I don't have to.
Thank you!

One other question to clarify for a 2008 Gen2 Cayenne: Anyone know if an LED adapter (like this: http://www.etrailer.com/Wiring/Tow-Ready/20142.html) is necessary for the brake lights to function properly when using a trailer with LED lights? Thanks again!!
