Default 06 955 - Loose trim strip under door

The trim strip under the drivers door has seen a lot of abuse from feet exiting the car. Several of the plastic snap fasteners that secure it have broken over time and now the trim strip is quite loose. I ordered a bag of fasteners from the dealer and replacing the broken ones should be straight-forward but just in case, I'd appreciate any advice available on re-securing the trim strip.

A straightforward job using a small rubber mallet. Make sure you clean all surfaces well since the flimsy clips must seat completely in order to engage. The front one near the fender will make you sweat a bit.

^ What Andy said.
It's actually a pretty nice set of parts but it takes a very solid hit with a soft mallet or your fist. I used the fist method. Buy both sides of teh clips, easy and looks good.

The clips will inevitably fail too.... just like that OEM driveshaft. The best answer to hard slamming doors *repeatedly.... is Shoe Goo. Permanent, until YOU decide to rip it all out.
