Default 957 fuel door and car washes

Every time I go through the car wash, the drying blower will blow open the fuel tank door. The lock actuator works fine when the car is locked, but there does not seem to be a way to lock it closed while the engine is running. So far, the only solution I have is to hit 50mph after the wash and the door will close. Is there a way to lock it?

Nope. The cure to that was to get a 958 - it locks itself closed.

So, the 955 and 958 lock, but 957 . . not so much.

Makes total sense

The car wash attendant asked that I remind them to tape the door shut before entering.

No - the 955 doesn't lock. Only the 958. The 958 you have to push in to release the lock (it releases with a click..) - the 955 would do the same thing to me in a carwash. Never seemed to damage it so I wasn't too concerned.

This thread alludes to a button on the driver's door for the 955

Either way, it doesn't really matter, because I have neither a 955 nor a 958.

Maybe I will wire in a switch or button to temporarily lock the fuel door.

On the touch-free no-contact car washes, my rear wiper has often lifted and remained in the upright position.

Because I keep a small chamois in the glove compartment to clean up the drips and spots left behind, I will still exit the vehicle after parking and close the fuel filler door, re-position my rear wiper and wipe up the missed spots.

Yup same problem . I just hop out quick close and and be on my way. Just annoying I have to do this every time for sure but I dont think I would spend any money to alter this system to close it somehow. Not the biggest deal to just hop out quick just a lil annoying... oh well. You'd think Porsche would have thought that a little through better lmaooo
