Default trailer hitch plan

I've got a curt hitch already installed. They are rated for 6000 lb. I will replace it with a used oem hitch when i find one close.
Then I need a control module 955-618-040-12 , I'm thinking of buying new so I don't have to worry about used electronics $317 at Sunset.
Next the wiring harness,
955-612-506-00 I'd sure like to get a used one of these, because they charge $258 for one at Sunset, the best price I've found.

Depending on the trailer I end up with if it doesn't have surge brakes, I guess you need a Prodigy RF brake controller to finish it off.

Oh does the 08 control module handle LED trailer lights?

Sounds like a good plan. Add about $200 to your budget for controller calibration at the dealer.
