Default Please help - possible HPFP issue on 08 turbo

PLEASE take a look at this HPFP log at cold startup on my 08 turbo. Takes over a second to crank. Is this a HPFP issue? Battery seems fine. If HPFP issue could someone help me out with a part #? I think it's 948110315GX but not sure. THANKS!

Note: No codes were thrown according to my Durametric. I've had my battery load tested and it passed with flying colors.

??

Do you have any reference to the Hitachi pump. Google doesn't pull it up which I find unusual. Is it the same pump as OE?

Looking at the Durametric numbers (a plot of the two columns might be illuminating..) it appears it takes roughly 1 second for the pump to achieve the set-point. That might cause a small delay in starting - but I imagine the injectors would still fire even at the starting pressure of 22 bar (~330psi.) but it might run a tad lean. How long is the delay in starting? 1 second seems normal to me..

The delay was about 1 second then. The delay is longer the longer the car has sat since it last ran.

Update - this is NOT the right part #. That part # is for the Cayenne S, not the Cayenne turbo. The correct part for the turbo is 9481103154X. This superseded part 00004330141001.

This according to Jim Ellis Porsche in Atlanta.

Are you sure this is really this issue and not a symptom of another more critical timing item such as a worn or failing starter motor? If you starter takes a second or two to begin to spool you would see this as well, right?

I changed out my starter the last time I had my intake plenum off and its night and day difference in terms of speed and responsiveness. My original would have a two second pause after turning the key before anything and I mean anything would happen.

Just my .02

After having my HPFP replaced last week, the start times were also drastically different. If your HPFP is failing it will try to start for seconds. It's almost immediate with the new pump even after a night in 15* New Englad weather.

When I turn the key the starter kicks on immediately... it's just a few seconds before the engine cranks.

Update - replaced my pump (PN 94811031554) this afternoon. She starts up much faster, idles smoother, and generally just feels better all around now!

The old stopper was stuck but I bent some metal to make a hook and was able to pull it out.
