Driver seat won’t go up or down
Good Day,
the drivers seat seat in my 2004 cayenne is longer going up or down. I’m referring to the height adjusted at the rear of the seat, not the backrest.
its not a switch problem. If I press the switch in either direction I can hear the motor engage but no movement.
im assuming a stripped gear or shafts? I have read in here about repairs to back and forth shafts and back rest issues but not a case like this.
can anyone point me in the right direction before I go and remove the seat? (Which I’m not even sure I need to do yet)
TIA
Rofer

Part number
Thanks for the part number. IM certainly not ruling out the motor but I do hear it spinning when the switch is depressed. Is there something in the motor that can strip out that would result in this condition?
i read a lot of cases where the seat gets off track and can be pushed back on. Is this possible for the up /Down movement
thanks

I think the motor & gears for the height adjustment are one unit.
I don't think they are available separately, unless you can find a used one with a bad motor, but rest of it good.
The seat flips up reasonably easily. Follow the instructions for battery replacement. I think you can get a good look at the motor & mechanism that way.
