Default Footwell servos

Been spending some time fixing various issues with the HVAC including the regulator and the fresh air flap. There is no heat in the lower part of cayenne and Durametric is showing footwell servo error code.
I have done bunch of reading and not clear if the dash needs to come out or can it be done other ways. The past threads had either been incomplete or RHD focused where it seems to be easier because steering column is on the opposite direction.

Appreciate any thoughts if someone has replaces the footwell servos.
Also, what is the better option 1) go with VW equivalent part or 2) servos from 2008 onwards which some folks have mentioned are higher quality.

Thanks

Looks like most of the lower covers and some electronics needs to come out.
Durametric shows footwell servo failure. There is no heat on either side. Does anyone know if both motors are known to fail at the same time or is Durametric not able to differentiate between left and right side failures?

Thx
