Default Lifting a steel suspension Cayenne

Has anyone tried lifting their Cayenne? I have a 2013 Cayenne base model with stock suspension . I would like to lift it a bit. I found this kit online but can't see to find anyone who has tried to install it. My shop says instaling it would eliminate the suspension travel. The spaccer company says the ride quality will not be affected. Any ideas ? Thanks

If they're just tophat spacers they won't eliminate your suspension travel at all, just gap where the strut mounts to the chassis. Ride quality should also not be affected since you're not changing the struts or springs. It's literally a body lift, going too high may require new longer control arms to correct the geometry of the suspension though.

I would find a new shop if they think a body lift eats into the available suspension travel.

I have limited shop options in El Paso. The shop also told me that the whole rear hatch interior had to be removed to take out the rear struts.

From what I gather from the service docs, the strut top bolts are behind the large side panels. The edges of which are under various other bits of trim, including the ones at the rear of the passenger doors. So, yeah, you'd be removing just about all the lower panels in the rear cargo area. The trick would be knowing which ones are layered on top of others, and where the clips are situated. Going at it blind would be asking for trouble.

LImited shop options

I know that feeling, the global community is a great help. Sometimes you have to go your own though. Dont be scared - its no worse than modding a jeep / FJ or F150 etc.

Having lifted a Jeep XJ and a Ford Bronco, yeah, it is going to be worse. Especially since there's virtually no aftermarket sources for any of the bits you might need if the lift goes beyond the normal range of motion from the stock suspension.
