Default driveway exhaust repair/swap

I have a (recently purchased) 2008 3.6 V6 RHD 100k, I it sounds like i have an exhaust leak on the drivers side.

I am looking for information on whether or not driveway repairs are possible for this part? I am an engineer and have plenty of tools as well as a 3 ton jack and stays. Ive been under the car while it was running and had a quick look but could not see or feel any leaks. It looks/sounds like its coming from something closer to the block. i'm happy to strip it apart to get to this area but thought id ask here before i take most of the nearside apart only to hit a brick wall, rebuild and need to take it to my local garage anyway.

I did search for related posts but could only find exhaust upgrade posts.

any advice would be much appreciated.

thanks.

Check the flex downpipes from the exhaust manifolds. They are known to fail on a occasion. It's tough to work on these exhausts laying on your back but it may be doable, depending on where the problem is. Good luck!

Cheers,
