Default Steering Wheel Refinishing

Hello,

Does anyone have any experience with refinishing their leather steering wheel using Leatherique or any other product? The prior owner of my CTT had a dog and it's nails put some nicks in the leather. The dealer did their best to repair the damage and actually did a good job, but the leather is starting to feel kind of rough and worn now and I'd like to smooth it out.

I considered a sew on kit but I'm afraid it'll cover the up/down shift buttons. I also considered having a local shop recover it professionally but so far the local shops aren't interested in the work. I really don't want to send to Dallas Custom Steering Wheel as I'd like to minimize down time, and don't really need or want any new custom modifications.

Open to any suggestions anyone might have.

Their work looks good, any idea of the cost and turn-around?
