Recommendations for chipping a 958.1(?) 2011 Cayenne turbo?
Hi there, all you helpful folks of rennlist. I'm a new owner of a stock 2011 Cayenne turbo looking for some performance gains at not too high a cost. I tried a Racechip after seeing ppl say good things about them, even tho no one was posting hard numbers, but couldn't get close to the gains advertised in testing with a GTech, and not happy about some other issues either. So, time to step up to an actual reflash, something similar to a stage 1, I guess. I'm not currently looking to invest in hardware upgrades, only a retune on stock equipment. Giac and APR websites seem to be advertizing tunes only for the first gen pre 2011 Cayenne. VividRacing and Fabspeed are both offering canned/generic reflashes that can be applied to stock and also tweaked some, and that be done via OBD so no pulling the ECU, and both companies advertize excellent gains and seem to be well thought of in general [edit - well, fabspeed at least, vivid on more reading seems to have a mixed rep, good some places, bad others - edit again, well, on even more reading I'm seeing fabspeed get slammed as being mostly snakeoil too.... ].
Anyone have any experience with either of these, or especially pros/cons of one vs the other, or who's (if anyone) got a sweeter tune? Many thanks in advance for any thoughts! Hoping to get this done within the next few weeks....

We gained 82whp with our tune:

The RennChip claims +88hp (crank) and from our testing they are usually fairly spot on with their claims:

Well, I am mostly looking for replies people who actually bought something for their car, and used it, not from people hawking things, since there's that whole conflict of interest issue, lol. I'm I think more interested in some sort of flashed tune than a piggyback, on principle I'd rather change what the ECU is doing with the true information it's getting than change what it's doing by giving it false information, if that makes sense, and piggybacks are also limited because that's the most they do.
OTOH I see Flat 6 actually sells most of the available systems, so what you could do that would really be helpful, if you could do so without alienating your vendors, is compare and contrast or even rate the various systems (unless the above is already the closest you can come to doing that, in mentioning RennChip and none of the others you sell).
Racechip Ultimate that you sell, I already tried, they in fact as a piggyback advertize the highest gains of all those products (e.g. +116 HP), higher in fact than the OBDII actual flashes, but, I tried them already and was decidedly underwhelmed (plus when I tried to ask them questions about expected performance that it didn't seem like I was seeing [using a Gtech RR, not butt dyno], or dyno curves for their various settings compared to stock, they stonewalled me and talked gobbledygook about the "engine serial tolerance").
And is there anyone out there who's actually flashed one of the OBDII tunes to their Cayenne (preferably turbo version)? Thanks

As far as claims, some vendors cite max or peak, wheel or crank numbers. When comparing we like to look at percentage gains to control for dyno variances. Some vendors don't provide dyno graphs. We do test every companies' tuning solution that we offer. Now we haven't tested every single platform but we have at least tested their product on a late-model Porsche to validate that it works and doesn't have issues.
On our tuning, we have a few Panamera clients. I've been looking for a 958 client who is interested. Our hardware supports the ECU in the 958. We have over 20K miles of testing and no issues. A very smooth operating tune with good power. We have dyno plots from a 3rd party dyno operator. I'm responding to help inform. Obviously, we sponsor this forum with the hope of serving new clients. Our approach is to listen to what a customer is looking for and help inform on options. We never tell anyone this is what they should do. Our in-house tuning works great. If you're looking for a flash tune, I think you should consider. I'm also happy to help compare some other options for you. Feel free to PM or email me.

I can't figure out out to PM or email from the board here, don't see any links or buttons for either. I went to the Flat 6 website and found your number and called and left a message.
