911 sc power upgrades
Hi there,
I'm thinking about buying an sc coupe. Ans i read all about the differences between 78-80 81-31 and the euro and US models. Mostly it comes down to compression and some minor things. In Holland where I live, good SC's are not there any more, because of salt on the roads, so we import a lot of US cars.
now my question: Is there any way that I can up the power a bit of the US models? (20 HP or so) without losing mid range torque? and prefferably without changing internals like pistons etc?
In holland, pre 1991 cars have no environment rules.
Im thinking:
-air filter
-cat delete and SSI
-PMO carbs (good sound!!)
-ignition timing etc.
any advice?

20 hp is a little ambitious. You have the right idea's with the PMO carbs and SSI conversion. Other than that you won't see many power upgrades. Improving the handling and weight of these cars is the best bet unless you want to pull the engine apart.
