996 GT2: what best rim/tyre for track ?
Hi guys,
I have just bought a 996 GT2 CS '01 for track use and short races (30'). I have been doing track days for about 10 years now.
For years, I have been using Michelin Pilot Sport Cup but for my GT2 I realized that the OEM size (315/30 in 18") in MSC does not exist.... So I need to find something else... In MSC, there is nothing wider than 295 in 18"...
I am thinking of moving to 19" rims and put 235/35 in front and 305/30 in rear.... I did not find anything better..
For 96 GT2 owners, what combination wheel size/tyre did you experience and what do you think is best for track use ???
Many thanks,
Bat

Are there any 996 GT2's running the following set-up?
Front: 18 x 9 48mm offset with 245/40/18
Rear: 18 x 12 40mm offset with 305/35/18
If so do you have fitment and rubbing issues? Any Brake Clearance issues with PCCB? This was suggest from some 996 Turbo's also but not sure there will be issues.
Thanks
