My tires spin in second, too. As long as I did not spin in 1st, it's usually O.K. from an acceleration standpoint. Hld the tach at 6000~ and it works out O.K. I have not tangled w/anything close, but I'm sure there is plenty out there. W/O taking it to 7000 in both RPM's and vehicle speed, it bogs in 3rd. And this is a close ratio 968 6 spd. I did this when a C-5 was trying to blast by me. Even with tires spinning, the closing rate of the 'Vette was immediately reversed. It is a lot of fun.
