Post Mag engine cases

Hello:
I just finished building a new motor for my car. the case is magnesium. Has any one had any experience with polishing magnesium engine cases, came chane covers etc? I like the weight savings but would like to do something to make the case more attractive, the dull and mottled appearance leaves a lot to be desired.
Thanks, Jim Florance

You see so little of the case when it and all the ancillaries are installed.

If having a polished case makes you happy thenI guess standardprocedures would be used, degreasse , then hit with progressiveley finer abrasives..

You can poilish them like anything else but then you have to seal them to keep it from quickly turning dark grey again. Not sure what you would seal an engine with.
