performance handling and suspension book?
 

I am trying to tune the suspension of a highly modified car, with a geometry that is way off factory, much like a 935.

Can anyone point me to a book/reference that can provide me the education needed to understand the laws/variables and eventually properly setup this suspension?

There are no books that contain the info that you're looking for. Generally speaking, people who really know these kinds of things do not share this sort of thing due to competitive pressures.

There is a book by Fred Puhn called "How to Make Your Car Handle". Geesh, mine is probably 20 years old, and much of the content is laughably old. Despite its age, I still turn to it quite often because a lot of it is still applicable. Physics hasn't changed much, although modern suspensions throw quite a few new tricks at it. The stronger your math, the more you'll get out of the book.

Like Steve says above, I don't think there is anything newer/better, but even if you have someone handle everything for you, I would still recommend this book for general background information. Certainly worth the price, anyway.

I agree that you won't find all of the answers in a book, but a couple of good ones are Race Car Vehicle Dynamics (Milliken/Milliken), Tune to Win (Smith), Competition Car Suspension, and the Fred Phun book already mentioned.

An other good book is "Performance Handling" by Don Alexander. It explains roll, roll couple, and roll couple distribution pretty well, although it does not explain how to change them.
