AWE Tuning Switchpath center muffler - Poor Quality
I have a 991.1 4S w/ PSE and an AWE SwitchPath Center muffler. Recently I began hearing a rattle coming from the exhaust, upon inspection the seal in the actuator on the passenger side is blown and the driver side seal is on its way out, starting to rattle as well. The vacuum is not being held anymore and therefore the actuator is bouncing around making a ton of noise and sounds horrible.
Anyhow I called AWE to see about getting a warranty replacement and since i do not have the original invoice they want to charge me $500 for 2 actuators which is insane, thats a quarter of the price of the muffler. The parts online are roughly $50 a piece but i don't know the exact part # to get without removing the AWE.
This part shouldn't fail after 1 year of usage, and if they do AWE should definitely not inflate the part price to make an extra buck.

To be clear, there are no "inflations." Unfortunately, in this case, the valves -- which are manufactured by an OE supplier -- are part of significant sections. They could, of course, be repaired or replaced within the same sections, but they would need to be sent to us to do so vs replacing the entire section. Of note, our policy and lifetime warranty is applicable to the original owner. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.

I have had 4 AWE exhaust systems and a number of other parts that I have bought from AWE. I have always had a great experience and great product. I think its absurd for a person to buy a used exhaust (or a used car with existing used exhaust), and expect the manufacturer to warranty it (and after more than a year at that). Its pretty clear that you only posted on here to bash AWE, either in an attempt to leverage them to give you free or cheaper parts, or just to harm them. pathetic move in a my opinion.
Maybe consider a different tactic next time. Im glad to see AWE not just roll over just because you posted on a public forum. Start a go fund me page for the $500 if you must.

Defects happen that is normal. It is how the issues is handled that is concerning. Your warranty is clearly stated on your site and this post is not here to dispute that, this is simply a post to notify others that they should beware when buying used, as the parts used on the muffler may not last, they surely did not with me.
