Default Spring Rates

Upgrading my coilovers on my 996T. I’ve researched spring rates here and it seems like accepted examples of road/track cars are 600F/800R +/- 100 pounds and 1000F/1100R for race tires.

Front motion ratio is close to 1. Rear is something like .6 or for sure less than 1.

So with all the weight in the rear why would we need to run such high rates on the front?

Thanks,
Kevin
