Just got my new white Gt4 with silver wheels. I would prefer to have black or platinum. If any one with one of those prefers silver, maybe we can work out a trade. I am in the Asheville, NC area and if you are within a reasonable distance and want to work something out, let me know via PM.

Love the car! I'm jealous. I think platinum would look perfect. Black would be my close 2nd.

Great looking car. Not everyone is familiar with Cayman wheel sizes so how about some specs.

- Front 8.5" x 20" - 61mm offset
- Rear 11" x 20" - 50mm offset

But it probably doesn't matter since OP is only looking to trade for factory GT4 wheels in black or platinum.

Why not have a good body shop paint them? I had mine painted dark graphite and they look phenomenal. Was a little expensive (around $1k) but they did an outstanding job.

Do you have any pics?? I have a black GT4 on the way with platinum wheels. It wasn't my config, I bought from a flipper and would have preferred the satin black to the platinum so I am debating what I want to do. Not sure if a body shop will be able to replicate the exact satin black look which is what I prefer over "normal black wheels"... Also, why did you decide to paint as oppose to powder coat?

Pics are in original post. My wheels are silver, not black. I want to trade for black or platinum. My wheels are new with 200 miles on them and no scratches.

I did a lot of research and found that PC'ing forged aluminum wheels very frequently weakens the strength/integrity of the wheel, unless you find a shop that specializes in it (and still a risk at that). Lots of examples of powdercoated wheels breaking/cracking as a result of PC'ing. Most forged alloy wheel companies advise against it. Instead, I decided to go with a reputable custom shop and get them painted. Here are some pics of some 20" Carrera S wheels I had painted.

You're correct...find the right shop and PC of forged wheels causes no issues. Wheel Enhancement does it all the time.

There is a thread somewhere that some investigation by members has proven that GT4 wheels are not forged.

Don't do it. You'll regret this later when everyone else who ordered the spray painted factory wheels wants to desperately part with them. Your car is one of the few who got this option right.

If you want a color change have yours painted gloss black it's a far better option.

Default Wheel Swap...

I may be getting a GT4 in the next week or so and it has the satin black factory wheels.
So if all works out I would be up for a swap.
We are in Mooresville NC so not too far for this type of activity : )
