Default Work Brombacher Wheels

Category: Accessories
Price (no $ sign please): $2800
Private or Vendor Listing: Private Listing
Part fits (select ONLY those which apply): 911, 964, 986, 993, 996
Location (Region): NorthEast
Item Condition: Used

Work Brombachers Wheels. 5x130mm bolt pattern, 8"x18" front and 10"x18" rears. ET56 on all of them. I was told they came off of a 996, but fit with no issues on my 964.

These wheels were disassembled. The centers were professionally media blasted, powder coated gold and clear coated. The clear coat was stripped off the lips, they were refinished, polished, new 'Brombacher' decals where applied (two per wheel), and then three coats of wheel wax applied. The barrels were cleaned, sanded, primed, painted and cleared. The wheels were then reassembled, torqued to Work specs, and sealed.

The goal was for the wheels to be flawless when complete. With that being said I would rate them a 9/10, because nothing is perfect. The wheels have not had tires mounted after the rebuild, and only one (1) front and one (1) rear were mounted on the car for an aesthetic check.

I purchased these about a year ago based on the assumption that they were in good condition. Upon getting them home I found they where not up to the condition I was told.

Turns out the painted finish on the centers was flaking off in large chunks, the imperfections in the clear coat was not wax build up, but rather issues with the clear coat, and what I was told would wash off the barrels, simply would not. No matter what product was used. Hence my motivation for the rebuild.

Included I have four (4) new Work valve stems for the front wheels, two (2) new Work valve stems for the rear wheels, two (2) sets of new stainless steel wheel assembly bolt (five in set, total of ten), and two (2) spare 'Brombacher' decals. These spare parts alone are work over $150.

For everything I would like to get $2,800. Shipping can be arranged, and would be extra.

This is truly a case of my loss is your gain, as I have far more into these wheels than I am asking. However a change in priorities makes me think these wheels would be better off not sitting unused in my house.

More pictures are available. Please email me with any questions.

Hmmm...that sounds oddly familiar. I got burned like that...twice. Not fun at all. BTW, I love the finished product. Excellent color choice ;-)

Thank you! I believe they are approximately 24lbs for the fronts, and 26lbs for the rears.

I am extremely interested. Like you, I've been burned as well. Sorry to hear that.
I have a C2 993, a NB and am concerned with the offset quite honestly. I figure the rears will just barely fit, but am worried the front wheels would hit the running gear. Have you been able to confirm fitment of a NB 993?
Beautiful wheels.

Beautiful wheels.
I can tell you they fit on my 964 NB with out any issue. On the for sale thread I have in the members area someone responding to the same concern with the following:

"There're a few Listers who run Carrera IIIs on their NB with no issues including myself. The rears are 10" et 58. On my old red lowered C2, there were no rubbing at all. I could have easily gone another 2mm outboard.....et 56. I would use 265/35 tires instead of 285 to be on the safe side.

On the front, et56 means wheels will be slightly tucked inward compared to 8" twists. Also you can slightly tweek the alignment to ensure fitment. Point is it's doable if you really like the wheels."

I can't speak to that. They fit my 964 NB, and I was told they came off a 996. You would have to do some research, it may just be a matter of having the proper spacers.

When I got them they had 225/40/18s on the front, and 265/35/18s on the rears. They fit my NB 964 with no issue.
