Default 964/993 G50 Powerhaus Gearsets w/Synchro

Category: Drivetrain
Price (no $ sign please): $1000
Private or Vendor Listing: Private Listing
Part fits (select ONLY those which apply): 964, 993
Location (Region): SouthEast
Item Condition: Used

I have two gearsets, purchased from Powerhaus II. These are the same gears from the same manufacturer now offered through GBOX. These are shot-peened/extremely high quality gear sets that equal or surpass the quality of factory gearsets.

These are for G50 gearboxes and are a 4th and 5th gear replacement for a 5 speed and the taller gearset is a good 6th gear replacement in a 6 speed box.

One set is 22/27 (1.227) ratio, used for a weekend then exchanged for another ratio. This one has a steel synchro installed. Although it has been installed and used briefly, I would still consider it in "like new" condition.
This gear set would be used as a 4th gear in a G50/64 5spd. - $600

The other set is 24/25 (.960) ratio and "NEW/Unused" with new synchro.
It has never been installed and is being sold as a NEW gearset.
This gear set would be used as 5th gear in a G50/64 5spd or a 6th gear in a 6spd. $600

These gearsets sell for $895 from Patrick Motorsports and similar with GBOX and Guard Transmission, plus the cost of steel synchros ~$235 each so just over $1,100 for each gearset/synchro combination.

I'm offering BOTH gear sets for $1,000 or will sell separately for prices listed after each description.

Also pictured are 3 Porsche factory Pinion shims. These were purchased and/or used in a G50/64 5spd. gear box...and are the same for a 6 speed 993 box. Two of them are .20mm, one of them used, the other one is a .15mm and was fitted during pinion depth measurement and torqued down but not used. All three are in excellent to NEW condition.

I will throw these in, FREE of charge with purchase of BOTH gear sets...and will sell separately if interested.

PM or CALL if SERIOUSLY INTERESTED/READY to BUY - do your homework, I'm not a gear expert, but I've played one on TV. The information herein was compiled/verified via consulting two of the Porsche Motorsports Industry leading gearbox experts. These are the final G50 gearbox parts I have left.

PM or CALL Jeff (757)286-five eight five seven, buyer pays shipping...I take checks, Paypal, etc.

Seriously, these are the common upgrade gear sets for a G50. Why I'm getting the "I'll need to check with my mechanic" PMs is beyond me.

Here's a novel idea - check with your mechanic FIRST!

Although changing gears can be a popular upgrade, I think the details of it are past most people...me included hence why you still have them.

Do you have a link to where these are available at Patrick Motorsports? I can call them and figure out if they are what I am looking for.

Thanks

Just being sarcastic and simultaneously moving a dormant thread to the top of the pile.
In my 964 days it was key to having a quick car.

Disassembly of the gearbox is required.
A rebuild is not required.

The Patrick Motorsports website is and always has been one of the most comprehensive sites with regards to popular diff./box upgrades.

If it's on the site. It's a viable/popular upgrade.

Frank, that is the exact box these gears are for.
That and the later 964 boxes.

GEARSETS/SHIMS STILL AVAILABLE.
