I'm assuming transmission modifications are necessary to make it a true sequential manual?

So I've done a bit of research on this system, but am wondering if there is any feasibility/practicality to this shifter on a combined street driven/track car? In other words, does it "bang" the shifts too hard when not driven above 8/10ths?
