FS: Manual steering rack from RS America low miles
Category: Steering & Suspension
Price (no $ sign please): $1750
Private or Vendor Listing: Private Listing
Part fits (select ONLY those which apply): 964, 993
Location (Region): NorthEast
Item Condition: Used
These racks are very rare and no longer available.
Installing this in your 964 or 993 will reduce weight in the rear via eliminating the power steering pump, as well as the hoses and fluid.
Eliminating the power steering pump also reduces the drag on the engine from the power steering pulley which is worth 10hp alone at high rpm.
It will also improve fuel economy and give direct feedback and handling.
Asking $1750 cash/local pickup otherwise you can purchase it from Dan Jacobs(see below) via credit card and shipping.

The handling/fee is great, only complaint on the street would be tight parking lots or parallel parking. I'd gladly the feel/feedback over the numb over-boosted electric steering in my S4(I admit it wouldn't be practical in a nearly 4000lb all wheel drive sedan but you get my point)
I wouldn't be changing it if it wasn't a stamina/endurance thing on the track. When you add big sticky race tires it becomes an upper body work out fighting against the g forces and grip of the tires (that naturally want to go straight) and I'm a small frame 5'7" ~130lb runner/biker.
