Long story short, I ended up w/ a 964 pressure plate instead of one for a 993.

Will sell for $400 shipped in the lower 48 states. Condition is new, never installed. Out of box for photo only.

This is the 'blue stripe' 964 sachs pressure plate (note marking @ 6 o'clock in the photo). OEM part number 964-116-028-90, Sach's p/n 3082 213 133. Suitable for use w/ dual mass or RS lightweight flywheels.

According to the application guide, this fits all of the common non-turbo 964 variants ('89-'93, inc C2 / C4 / RS). The Turbo & 964 L/W use a different part but if you own one of those, you probably aren't reading this post nor, especially in the case of the latter, care that this is a significant savings over the various parts stores..
