I'm guessing that'd be pretty difficult to ship...

My mom used to make me step on those scales before going to the Dr's for a physical. To make sure I wasn't cheating. Too many bad memories. I'll pass. But great idea

Since most scales only go to 250 lbs, better make sure your car is < 1000 lbs, or a cart!

Not true. The car is not being supported solely by the scales - it's sitting between the scale and the pivot point (ground) of the supporting levers. Because the supporting pads are closer to the pivot than the scale itself, each scale is probably only supporting 1/4 of each corner weight.

When corner balancing, one only needs to balance the corner weight in proportion to the opposing corner. If you are looking for the true weight on each corner, you can multiply the weight percentages by the total weight of the vehicle.

Assuming that the 4 levers are exact copies of each other, this can be very accurate.

Example:
Get in push up position and put your hands on a scale. See how much weight you're actually working - it will be less (appx half) than your body weight.

This is a setup that has been used for years on different types of race cars. I have a set that I used on drag cars. These will work just fine. Whatever weight shows on the scale you multiply by 4 and that give you the actual weight. Then add all four numbers from each wheel and you will be close to the total weight of the car. If you have coilover shocks and struts, you will find that if run the spring ajuster up on the right front wheel it will put more weight on the left rear wheel. These are simple to use
