I think they were looking for the earlier aluminum intakes for a turbo mod.

There are a bunch of discussions on it.

They were first introduced on the Cup cars.

The benefits would be, less weight, better and more uniform flow, transfer less heat to the intake charge, more power, and they look a lot better.

Plus, it's a cheap upgrade.

Price is very reasonable. Normally run you $500 or more.

Although I think you will find these are the stock intake manifolds for the RSA and 93 up 964C2/C4. Part numbers 964 110 627 03 and 964 110 628 03. I don't believe any power gains will be seen since the cast aluminum and plastic plenum cars see the same HP numbers.

The Plenums that saw an increase were used on the 3.8RS and are similar to these 996GT3 Cup car intake manifolds. These would take work to fit our cars.
