I stand corrected. The USB port I was referring to is in the back. @Galavanta, nice pic! I thought that was a cooling vent like the one in the glove compartment.
I was just changing the very bulky USB charger in the armrest power socket, to the very neat dual outlet Aukey model, when I noticed there is an additional socket in the armrest between the power socket and the USB and 3.5mm aux sockets. It is very difficult to see what it is as there is a shield or plug protector above it but it looks either like an Ethernet CAT 5 or USB-B (printer etc) socket. The user manual is its usual useless self when it comes to this and is totally silent about this socket. I think the manual issued to UK users is the same as the US one, even though there are significant differences between the cars (RHD v LHD just for one). There are also loads of errors and omissions for example on page 189, they label the USB port and Aux sockets the wrong way round. Anyone know what this socket is? Otherwise I will have to get a mirror and a torch to have a look. That will at least tell me what sort of socket it is, even though I will still not know what it is for.

Mystery solved!! I just received a reply from the tech at my dealer and was told that the gadget in the middle of the back wall of the center console is actually an LED that emits when it is dark out to light up the console. I tried it and sure enough, it is a nice light that seems to only work when the car is turned on. I've noticed the light in the console, but always assumed it was coming from overhead. Please do not try plugging anything into this socket!!!
I purchased my car off the lot so the smoking package was already there. I can't figure out what to do with the ash try / lighter. What do put there? Loose change? [ugh]
I can't even close the cover with breath mints in there.

and then I just put my key fob in the "ash tray"... But, yeah, I can't imagine anybody smoking in an expensive Porsche in this day and age... I think it makes more sense to have CD players than to have ash trays and cigarette lighters... (I hear that Porsche has eliminated both CD players and Jukebox storage from 2019 Macans and Cayennes, presumably with Panamera to follow?)

I also removed the ashtray insert and it gives a little more room. I keep my microfiber cloth in there for cleaning the black panel and touchscreen. I also keep an eyeglass cleaning cloth in there as I often need to clean the glasses when driving.

Anyone have trouble with the 21" Pirelli Cinturato's? I was going down a graded dirt road and got not one, but two flat tires. This road wasn't all that rough. Both were holed through the sidewalls. It's hard to believe it.
I have them and I love them!! Handle great and no problems at all with them; my car has 4000 miles on it. Have to admit, I haven't driven down any graded dirt roads with it. I also have the wheel tire protection package so if I do get a flat they replace the tire(s) at no charge. Assuming you got both flats on the front or both on the rear then that is a good thing as Porsche strongly recommends you replace both tires if you have to replace one tire. Hopefully that is the case and hopefully you have the wheel/tire package??
I just did a drive on town streets in all-electric mode, gently hilly terrain, temperature 38 degrees F, in my 2018 Pan4 E-Hybrid, starting from home with a full battery charge. General speed was 35-40 mph (no highway driving), with almost no traffic and only a few stops for red lights and stop signs. The engine stayed off throughout, and I got 25 miles of all-electric drive -- pretty good for a temperature just a little above freezing. Actually a little surprised -- I was expecting closer to 20 miles. I'll be interested to see how this varies going into its first New England winter now, as I acquired the car last May.

I took delivery of my 2018e-Hybrid about two weeks ago, and so still learning about this amazing automobile. My pure EV range has been a max of 24 miles so far, averaging around 22. This is on a fairly backroads drive to work avg about 35mph.
Whats the best strategy for highway cruising, hybrid auto? I’m on a 350 mile trip at the moment, a good bit is highway. I’ve noticed in this mode, the car will allow the EV range to deplete to 0. Still has a charge but can’t enter EV mode. I’ve been getting in the higher 30’s for mpg doing this. Should I consider this a good figure for moderate style driving? Is there any advantage to using ehold while on the highway to preserve EV range for in town, in terms of affect on overall mpg.
Basically wondering about what strategies you are using to drive the car to maximize mpg or to just enjoy the car.
