Trouble downloading free Online Map Updates through the internet
 

I have a feature called Porsche Connect for my 2017 Panamera, which has 15 services that I can manage through the Connect-Portal, such as Google Earth, Google Streets, Parking Information, Real-Time traffic, Weather, etc. Another of the services is Online Map Updates, which allows one to download over the internet navigation updates directly into the PCM. There is a 832 Mb update for South Carolina that I have been unable to download, either over the AT&T 4G vehicle connection, or via a wifi hotspot, due to extremely slow download speeds, which start at 360 Kb and throttle down to 12Kb per second after about 25% of the download has completed. That leaves approximately 624Mb left to download at 12kb per second. That, in my estimation, would take almost another 14.44 hours to complete. Has anyone else attempted to use this feature, and if so, what has been your experience with the download. Connecting my Android wireless tablet to the vehicle's built-in wifi hotspot, Speedtest.net has my download speed over the vehicle's 4G LTE network at 19Mb/sec, so the problem doesn't lie with AT&T. Any information would be appreciated!

My experience- I have downloaded the maps as well - approx 400Mb of data at the beginning of this week and I did not have the slowdown that you are reporting. Indeed I remember the download speed hovering around 350kb.

Try out FigLeaf, there must be some connection problems, you can use a feature from this site. Probably it'll help.
