First European car, help a brother out
Hey guys, I'm buying a 2010 Panamera 4S next Monday and it will be my first Porsche, or even first European car! Always owned Japanese cars!
I have a few questions:
1) The Panamera I'm buying comes with air suspension. From my understanding, if I want to lower the car, I'll need an electronic module which costs over 1k? I also hear about some 'links'? Can someone tell me the best way to lower the car?
2) Car has just over 90k km (almost 60k miles), I'm looking to do a major tune-up: engine oil, transmission oil, differentials oil, all filters, spark plugs. Anything else I should do besides these?
3) I'm looking for a front lip, where can I get one?
Thanks for the help!

Sorry but I can't help with your questions but I would strongly recommend a pre purchase inspection on the car by a dealer or reputable shop. These are very expensive cars when things need to be repaired.

Thanks. Of course I got the inspection done. Nothing major besides some bushings. There was some oil on the transmission oil pan. Mechanic said it was 'normal'. I'll have the gasket changed and it should be fine. Some engine oil leak but from what I read it's common on the Porsche V8. I don't think I should be worried about these right?

I don't think oil leaks are normal on any Porsche.

WARRANTY is the only way to own a car like this. 1K will be peanuts if you don't have one.
Also brakes need to be checked out. Hopefully you are either doing these services yourself or you already have an estimate. Expensive.

The 60k service will cost you about $2000-2500 if they don't find anything wrong, should be done by the dealer if you are buying from a dealer
I never had oil on any of my Porsche engines, don't think it is normal
It is a great car, just be aware of future cost

True dat. Buy an extended warranty.
And as Frank says, oil leaks="go on down the road". The 1970s are over. At this level, walk away. There is another one coming right down the pipeline that will be right for you.

Manahed to get a 2 years unlimited mileage warranty by my local Porsche dealer and all maintenance done up to date. At least I'll have peace of mind for the next 2 years. But every one is saying that a small amount of oil leak is normal. Might it be the fuel pump?

Congrats on the purchase!! At least you can get the leaks fixed under warranty. At best, the leaks are a sign of neglected maintenance. Now if you're leaking fuel, that takes the issues to a whole new level.
