Voice Control Not Available - UPDATED: Now Available.!
My 2017 Panamera Turbo arrived with Voice Control disabled and not available. VC is a standard no-cost option in every country except for the U.S. For whatever reason, in my opinion to improve on JD Powers Customer Satisfaction surveys, only a dealer can add VC when they order the car, and it is free option QH1. I am extremely disappointed that my dealer never even mentioned it to me, so that I could choose. Have any other 2017 Panamera's been delivered this way, or was it just my dealer that neglected this?
UPDATED: For those that have 2017 model Porsche's, Suncoastparts.com is now offering factory Voice Control as an accessory. $259.95 for the software for 2017 Panamera's and 911's, and $599.95 for 2017 Cayenne's, 718's, and Macan's, which also includes the steering column control switch. As with almost all things Porsche, professional installation is required by an authorized Porsche dealer.

I sat in a Panamera launch car at my dealer in NJ, and it was the same way, voice control not available. The feature appeared in the PCM menu but was grayed out. I was told that Porsche is doing away with this option, and that it can only be provided on special customer request. I was also told that the option will not be available at all on future models! No mention of this situation at all when I ordered my car, either. So, no, it was not just your dealer.

as a dealer we are not even allowed to spec it out unless it is for a presold car...so unless you special order a panamera then it will be disabled...
I think they are having functionality issues with it

I have the voice control active on the Panamera I just picked up in Europe. Will be interested to see if the local US dealership disables it. Either way, in playing with it - we aren't missing much - it needs work.

I wonder if this will be resolved with a software update down the road?

My dealer new car manager proactively asked me if I wanted it to be added just before my order "froze." I have had my 4S for about 3.5 months and I think I have used it only about 5 times. Seems to work OK with my Oklahoma accent.

It works fine on mine - but let's fact it, voice control apart from with Google etc is poor. Works about as well as BMW which is not saying much "Navigate to Heathrow"....."Navigating to Aberdeen". Argh

Was anyone in the US able to get this working after delivery? I'm an android user and as android auto is not offered, and navigation search is disabled while driving, there are virtually no options to add a destination while on the go. Does anyone come up with a good solution?
