Default Anyone seen a new 2017 Panamera at their dealership yet?

It is my understanding that all US 2017 Panamera demos have been held at the various ports awaiting release and shipment to the dealers. They have been at the ports for several weeks, but is anyone aware if they have been released to any dealers yet? My (non demo) 2017 Panamera 4S is on a ship docking at Houston on January 3rd, but if they are still holding all Panameras...mine may be held as well. Anyone hear why they are/were being held?

I saw quite a few at the Porsche Exoerience LA last Friday. They had been there for dealer training the days before. They all had Georgia MFR plates on them and were being loaded into Reliable Car Transporters when we left. I assume they were moving around the country for dealer training events.

I heard some talk that dealer launch parties may need to be rescheduled, but no explanation as to why....

I was told by my dealer today that it will take another 4 weeks for them to get their first one. Been thinking about a turbo and was quoted May delivery. Same for a 4S. Other models come much later.

I was told by my dealer yesterday that it now looks like March to see them show up at dealers - the earliest! At the moment it seems that the 4S and Turbo are the only cars that are available near term for an April/May delivery. The base model and hybrids should deliver "later this year" (basically I think they didn't know). I asked about GTS and he laughed as Porsche seems to be primarily focussed on just getting into the country the models they already sold.

Will get a chance to see them this Saturday at Champion's C&C. I was hoping for a test drive or at least a ride along but I doubt it.

March estimate of appearance at dealerships sounds reasonable. A government hold sounds not necessarily reasonable, but unfortunately plausible.

Saw a PT and P4S at the local auto show yesterday and both were very impressive. Beautifully proportioned vehicle with the well documented improvements in every aspect of dynamic capability and design. Will be a sales success.

well, these (686hp) are based on the assumption that the "turbo S" will keep the exact same engine as the turbo (550hp), and thinking that the Turbo S will be an hybrid, i.e.: by adding the exact same 136hp electric engine of the current model.
Frankly, ..this looks like "old tech", or IMO, not really what could happen !

About these V8, let's also remember that the Audi 4 liter of the 2017 S8 Plus, without any electric help, provide 605hp.

And about ?plugin? hybrid, lets keep in mind that Porsche (I should really say Alexander Hitzinger) invented a new way to permanently load batteries, ..i.e.: with secondary turbos, transforming the residual pressure of the exhaust, (after the primary turbos,) to run generator that loads the batteries. This has been used on the 919 (since the beginning of this "model") ..with quite good successes already.
I can only suppose that this very innovative technology, that enable even better engine efficiency (and lower CO2 emissions), will be used quite soon in production on high end models.
