Default Panamera gts gas milage

Hi I am thinking about purchasing a Panamera gts and I was hoping some gts owners could provide feedback on what real world gas milage they are getting. I plan to drive about 40 miles a day 90% of that being highway.

I easily get 25 MPG on the highway at ticket-attracting speeds.

MPG is pretty much BS, or more technically : **irrelevant**, for such type of cars, where the cost of the depreciation is MUCH higher than the cost of gasoline.

On the way up to Rennsport, the PTT got 22.5mpg. That's with a few "sport plus" blasts on the 46. I'm guessing the GTS will be around there or more.

I've had a GTS for 10 days now. I put roughly 300 miles in that timeframe, adhering to the 4200 rpm break-in limit. I have been driving smoothly, mostly on the highway at 85 mph.

I realize this is not much to go on but it should represent a good "worst case scenario" since it's not broken-in and temperatures have been below 60F for much of this time period.

So far I've been averaging 24 mpg overall and roughly 19 mpg in the city.

That's better than my 535xi with a TT 3.5... At its best.

I'm impressed.

You would be surprised how fast you can go without exceeding 4200 RPM. I found that out during my break-in.

I was under the impression that varying the speeds was best during break-in, not just cruising down the highway at constant speed.

I am parallel breaking-in a GT3 RS and the GTS and I agree with you, it's possible to go crazy but I keep that for the track.

You are correct, varying speed is frequently mentioned as best practice. The '85' above isn't exactly constant. I'll usually run between 60 and 90 depending on traffic conditions over my 92 mile (one-way) commute.

I've also tried many different approaches without being able to detect a 'short-term impact' so far. Last year for example, I broke-in my GT3 by hitting 9000 rpm after 14 miles on the clock and all the fluids warmed properly. 15,000 miles later, that thing is hot as hell on track and bullet proof so who knows....
