Three models with powerful six-cylinder engines will be offered: the Panamera Edition 2) and Panamera 4 Edition 3) both come with an engine that delivers 310 hp (228 kW), while the Panamera Diesel Edition 4) (not available in China) is equipped with a 300 hp (221 kW) engine. The Panamera 4 Edition features active all-wheel drive with an electronically controlled, map-controlled multi-plate clutch (Porsche Traction Management, PTM).

I looked at the online configuration tool because I was curious (I have a S e Hybrid so obviously I'm not interested personally). If you're in the market for a base model or 4, it's a really good deal. It's only $2k more, and you get about $8k of options, including the Premium Package, which is worth it by itself. I'm not a fan of the tan interior, but that's not required - that's just the default, the other interiors are still available.

Aside from the 19" wheels, it's not cosmetic stuff either, it's stuff almost everyone is going to value.

I have a 2013 Panamera 4 Platinum Edition and this sounds like it is extremely similar to what that car offers.

This Special Edition is typically done to empty out the parts bin, so does this indicate the 2016 will be the final year? If so 2017 model is all new!

Porsche has been saying for some time now that they were doing a new generation of Panamera in 2016, based on a common platform with Audi.

Models usually have a 7 year life cycle so a new Panamera for 2017 would make sense.
