Panamera Turbo (Air Suspension) front end creak over humps

Hi all,

I've got a recurring and as yet unresolved (despite going into the workshop several times) creaking issue with (it's assumed) the front end suspension on my Turbo and I wondered if anyone else has had similar and may know a resolution.

There's creaking noise coming from the front of the car whenever there's any significant suspension movement, such as "bounce" over a parking hump or braking hard to a stop from medium / high speed (dive). The noise "seems" like it's coming from the suspension but of course it could be something else moving which is just being affected by the amplitude of the movement.

Anyone else had this problem?

I got rid of mine because of that creak. It was intermittent so I couldn't demonstrate it to the service tech. Later I heard from him (after I had a new car, of course) that they were replacing front A-frames or something. I mentioned that on here and someone said all it needed was removing, cleaning, re-lubricating and reinstalling.

I just brought mine in for this exact problem. Yep that's it exactly it. The bushings/bearings are exposed and therefore need to be lubricated periodically.

I thought I might have heard something yesterday, but I didn't worry about it. One of my past 911s would do this when it was cold outside, and I never resolved it.

What kind of mileage are you guys and gals seeing this problem rear up?

60k when it showed up for me

My P4S, with air suspension, is at 31K miles. The same front end creak just showed up in my car within the past week. It's going to the dealer tomorrow.

EDIT: They removed, lubed and reinstalled my front sway bar bushings. Problem solved! Warranty work, no charge.

UPDATE: as per DMoore's response, my garage basically dismantled most of the front suspension, cleaned and lubed everything... noise is gone.

I have 9,500 miles on my PTT - I am now having an increasing amount of noise. Especially when cold in the morning when moving the steering wheel to full lock in reverse and then back when pulling out forward. Will have it checked at 10k service.

Yes, I had that too. I believe it's the same thing. Also under REALLY heavy breaking to a stop you may hear a creak when the car dives. From what my mechanic fed back to me it's surprisingly poor design by Porsche which leaves several joints 'un-booted' which leads to them drying out.

I have the same issue. 2010 Panamera Turbo 55km. It's more pronounced on cold days. It's very annoying. I'm taking it in for service. Sounds like it can be fixed form other posts.

Same crunching issue exactly! Was it solved?

I couldn't describe the issue better! Was it solved?

2010 TT. Just got mine back from the dealer. Creaking/crunching noise when going over speed bumps. Worse when cold out ( less than 20 degrees F) First repair took all the "dirt " out from the joints, which I guess you can do by loosing up the control arms. Not better. Joints probably shot from the dirt and wear.
Control arms then replaced, since I just got it tonight I don't know if it is fixed but by all accounts it should be.

Oh well, now i have creaking noise when turning the wheel; back to the shop - i guess now its the sway bars.
Replacing the control arms got rid of the noise when going straight over speed humps.....

This car is noisy!

Reviving an old thread here.....I have a '12 Panamera 4S and just had the car in the dealer to resolve the crunching/bushing sound from the front of the car when going over speed bumps and similar features when it is cold out.

They replaced the front upper A arms and the issues went away completely! I'm so glad to be rid of that noise.

There is an updated part that they now use - 970-341-05-110

Thanks for reviving this thread. I have a 2014 4S with air suspension. Just yesterday I heard that crunching noise for the 1st time while going over a speed bump at low speed. Was cold outside. Never heard it before. Car has 18K. Tried to reproduce the sound today and all is quiet again. In your experience, was this a one off or will it start happening more with time? I’m still under warranty (8 month only) so I want to get this under warranty if it’s going to become a problem. Need ammunition in case the dealer gives me grief because they can’t reproduce the sound. Many thanks!
