Default Porsche Panamera reliability - let's get better stats

I wanted more up-to-date car reliability information that included actual repair rates. So in late 2005 I started getting people together to make this possible. TrueDelta now updates actual repair frequencies, not just dots, four times a year, to report on new models sooner then track cars closely as they age.

I had results for the Jaguar XF well ahead of any other source, and would like to do the same for the Panamera. Just a matter of getting enough owners involved. So I'm grateful to this forum for giving me permission to post about the survey here.

To encourage participation, participants receive full access to all results, not just those for the Panamera, for free. I'll share results in this thread after each update.

To provide an additional benefit, I recently enhanced the related repair history survey so that it can (optionally) be used as a personal car maintenance record.

More owners have signed up, but we still have a good way to go before the Panamera is added to the survey.

This forum seems to be getting more active, so hopefully we can get more owners involved in the survey.

We're now about 1/4 of the way to the minimum sample size.

Starting this month we have a new question to measure, as objectively as possible, the severity of a problem. Many people have been asking for reliability stats that weight problems by how severe they are, and once we have enough responses with the revised survey we'll start providing this.

The 2010 is now over 1/3 of the way, and already some 2011s.

I have a turbo - I religiously followed break in period and oil warning after 1800 - which is a US quart.
Next quart went in at 6100 miles. And by the way this second period included 3 track days and a number of launches !!!
So it seems to be bedding in. I have (like the 996 turbo 2001 from new and now with 85K on it) seen a couple of mornings where the intial startup produced a lot of blue smoke.
Some light cracking on the ceramics, BEFORE the track days. Dealer says - yes that happens.

Interesting that the V8 still takes a number of miles to tighten up. Most engines these days no longer require such an extended break-in period.

Drove a V6 and a V8 yesterday--the latter would be a must for me. One caveat: both cars were AWD. With RWD the V6 is probably more fun.

Ten owners signed up so far for the 2010 and six for the 2011. Getting there, if more slowly than I had hoped.

Updated reliability stats for the Boxster, Cayman, and 911 last month.

Getting closer to also including the Panamera.

I got very busy with the site and had to stop participating in forums for a while. Back now, and hoping to get the Panamera included in the survey. How have these cars been holding up?

We recently posted updated stats for other Porsche models. Would love to also cover the Panamera.
