Just picked up a 971 Turbo
Been on rennlist for awhile but happy to join the Panamera family.
I have been searching for a Panamera on and off maybe 18 months. At first I wanted a Sport Turismo to replace my Mercedes wagon. I also wanted a V8 because I really miss having one so I was mainly looking at the Turbo. I quickly realized Turbo Sport Turismo is hard to come by so I expanded the search to include the hatch with the idea that if I get the hatchback, I'd just keep the Mercedes wagon, but if I got a Sports Turismo, I will sell the wagon.
And then the used car prices went completely crazy and I quit trying to buy one a few months ago. But 2 weeks ago, one very interesting one with a significant price reduction showed up in my inbox and I couldn't resist. It was priced about 20% below market and it was a CPO at a large reputable Porsche dealer that was within reasonable driving distance from me. Basically, the price was what I was willing to pay a year ago before prices went insane. I called the dealer and got all the paperwork and service history and pulled the trigger.
Original MSRP
Here is the car waiting for me at the dealer. The people at Porsche Marin treated me very well
I think that is a customer GT2, not for sale...
A foggy bridge a short drive away from Porsche Marin
Decided to tackle some nice local roads in the backwoods part of Silicon Valley
Started the drive home back to LA the next day. Decided to take a slight detour to route 229. I heard good things about the road so decided to check it out.
After the windmill location, the road becomes basically a one-lane road with no center marking... kind of interesting that it is an official CA route. Not sure why it was designated a state route but I'm sure there is a story.
Impromptu roadside picnic in 90F heat
Goodbye CA 229... it was a short but fun drive.
Traffic! This is how you know you are near LA
550hp is still a lot of fun in the age of $7 a gallon gas but I'm sure I will be seeing a lot more this...

My local dealer and where I got my Panamera.
I’m surprised they had a good deal on it since their inventory is low and I’ve seen some outrageous prices on other used models. Congratulations!

I too was surprised about the price reduction they had on this car. I think it may have been just a local market condition... seems like they were selling a lot more Taycan and moving those inventory faster. I guess they didn't want to sit on this Turbo for much longer. I see similar mileage but not as well optioned Panamera Turbo for sale online for $15~20k more.

However, some of us think the GTS supersedes them all.

All the OP needs to do is tuned his turbo and it will beat any 4S ehybird or 4 Hybird. The hybrid is a crazy car if you mod it but not as crazy as the turbo after a tuned.
