front bumper is fairly easy to remove (even in my spacious garage)
a good example of why you want to add the extra grill, hard to see int eh picture but that dent is pretty deep, could have holed something
on my car there are air guides on either side of the main intake, need to pry them off to be able add the grill to the whole thing.
the aluminum grill is easily trimmed to shape with some wire clippers, it's pretty soft stuff.
I trimmed it to the exact size for the portion under the air guide, the forma nice shelf and will clamp it in place when the are put back on
rear view of the finished process
for the portion not under the guide I trimmed a little large and add some rubber trim to clean it up, I then used some black zip ties to hold it in place
all back together, getting the bumper back on it a lot harder than taking it off, got to line up a number of things while holding it in place, using a jack in the middle helps a great deal (thanks for the tip Yves)
Did the same after a hole DID get too deep and lost AC. I used the gutter leaf guards from Lowe's. Parts: $8. Piece of mind: priceless! Got a video of the work on here somewhere...
