And you should still get an appropriate power supply for connection to the car while using the PIWIS.
Take a look starting a few posts up in this thread for suggestions: Received my new PIWIS III - Page 94 - Rennlist - Porsche Discussion Forums

And he should order that before the beer and pizza if not we're talking about a 3 course meal at a restaurant with white linen.

You need a power supply just to use it? or is it more needed for programing and coding?
thanks,

And yes, for programming/coding a supplemental charger is a must.

IMO this whole, "you MUST have a charger connected!!" thing is so overblown. This coming from someone who does coding and ecu programming for a living. Supplemental voltage is hardly ever required. I just monitor the voltage. If it drops below 11.5v, then and only then will i connect a charger. I've coded 100's of cars, and have never once had a voltage related failure.

Porsche Service Manual specifies 40 amps for 997 cars, much more for newer cars especially Cayenne, Macan, Panamera etc.
100 Amp power supply for the newer ones.

@sexzual_hotdog so you've coded hundreds of cars with AGM and LiFePO4 batteries that are being drained by a VAS that's slow as molasses?????????? How many VALs have you pulled for example?? Do share...
in the meantime for those who have bothered to read as @Westcoast suggested, continue using your 75A or 100A charger. For everyone else YMMV of course
