Received my new PIWIS III

At the time I considered the X-431 I spent a lot of time searching for options and compared support and prices-the US market Torque, Throttle and Turbo where the only ones that supported the Ferrari clutch, transmission and differential maintenance. There wasn't a lot of info on Porsche PDK maintenance for instance(and I don't even have a PDK) at the time-this search I did about 2 years ago and things might have changed. There were a few genuine US distributors, and a trusted one is AES, the link I posted.
At the time and still today, the US(and Europe) genuine X-431s cost a bit more than the rest of the world Amazon ones, which people compulsively bought. And if a vendor rips people off selling updates, another reason to use a trusted vendor.
I personally have boycotted all things Amazon and prefer to give the business to a genuine company, either locally or online.
For my Audi S3 I use obdeleven, and they now work on BMW too. Very affordable, and a genuine company. So I gave up on a Launch-but if I was to get one, it would be from that vendor.
Here's the Launch US site:
https://www.launchtechusa.com/
Many sites that come up doing a search are rest of the world Launch, but I found another distributor with the Torque on sale for $949:

Thanks for the info. Just be aware that my rant above was not about the official subscription renewal for the "rest of the world" Launch units. That rant was about an unofficial source.
Anything I have ever done on my ROTW Launch, using their normal paths (web site, etc.), has worked very well.

- Lucifer, I'm happy you found my Image and Like it. Went around the world a few times by now.
- Got one of the Windows 8 PIWIS that is floating around the internet. I used google - anyone can do that. I didn't pay a penny for any of the forums that force you to get a paid subscription to get the download link
- (search for "40.400 Win 8.1_64 Pbk_full_b1_s1_v1.tib")

Burning Brakes
does anyone know where the VAL files are located on the newer version of piwis? ie, 41.600?
[edit]
I found it. For a 992 GT3, it's located under
C -> userdata link -> PIDT -> Protokolle -> FAP
over-revs in the 992 in the VAL file are located as follows:
Eng Prt nr Ign N Max1
Eng Prt ti N Max1
Eng Prt nr Ign N Max2
Eng Prt ti N Max2
Eng Prt nr Ign N Max3
Eng Prt ti N Max3

Hello folks, Is there a PIWIS III for dummies reference site? Looking for simple programming and service records. If this is covered if you can please direct me to the right direction I would much appreciate it. Thanks!

My suggestion would be to set a target on what you want to do: Reset Oil Service, and dig into the forum. Definitely somebody did that with Piwis, and apply it. If there is something you dont know you can always run "Simulation" mode and get familiar on the structure and how the software is organized. I would say it is a learning by doing (and making mistakes and f****g things up with you car.. that is inevitable). Hopefully the community here is very supportive and there are a pair of very knowledgeable users that can help you out.

NVCI PT3G
The VCIs capabilities and description is quite promising, hoping it's all real. [what reality brings, is yet to be established]

T6PT3G from Eucliea is great. VAL in under 3 minutes. WiFi, USB-C to USB-A, and ethernet (not tested). Extensively tested by a group of us across the globe (992, 991, Cayenne, Macan)

Wow...$500 bucks though for some hardware. If I was doing this for a living I'd consider it. For my little changes $100 was a good investment

You get what you pay for... just saying. There's 8 or so of us who've done extensive tests on this VCI and have the data to prove it works (no; I'm not selling anything), all I'm saying is caveat emptor.

I think im getting coding troubles because of this cheap VAS6154 clone which worth $50.
I'm looking at the T6PT3G but I will wait a bit to see what the VNCI PT3G worth ...
I think it worth to invest more money to not get ****ty bug then. And you can still sell the hardware if your a not using it anymore.
