What Engine Oil to Use Panamera 4s?
Hello, is it agreed that Mobil 1 5.30 is the best oil to use for the Porsche Panamera 4s.
If no what is your choice |
what year? the '10-'14 V8's call for 0-40 or 5-40
5-30 would be too runny, don't know what the turbo 6's call for, I'm sure someone who does will chime in here |
FWIW, 2018 Turbo calls for 0-40...
|
For models calling for an A40 oil, we recommend Motul 8100 X-Cess 5w40 or Driven DT40.
For engines that call for the new C40 standard that protects against LSPI, we use the DI40. There are two other current Porsche specs, C30 and C20, which IMHO are only used to improve fuel economy. |
thanks for chiming in Charles, can I get you to expand on why you recommend Motul 8100 X-Cess?

Thanks Charles.

My indy Porsche shop uses the Motul 5w40 and from what I've found online, it's a superior oil.

I addressed this issue a while ago so it should be accessible, short answer, if I remember correctly, is 0W40 and the reason is the additives package for engine sliding wear characteristics. I do an oil analysis .with each change and at 56000 miles the characteristics are excellent !

if the oil isn't A40 approved don't use it in your Porsche

5w30 would be the incorrect viscosity for your model and year. In 2011, the Panamera called for a 0w40 or 5w40 with A40 rating. Motul 8100 X-Cess 5w40 would be my recommendation for an A40 approved oil or Driven DI40 since it's direct injected if Porsche approval isn't a must.
Ok thank you for your input,I did a google search and found that the a40 rating sold in my area is Mobil 1 0.40 I do not have the other oils you recomended we are in Mexico not europe, not to many things high end things here unless we buy them by internet. I am putting Mobil 1 0.40 now to see if the other lower quality oil is causing the problem with the oil pressure warning indicator,I made another post about that |
I was wondering since I have never seen a Porsche here in TJ but visited Monterey MExico had so many exotic cars that rivaled Orange County California are your Monterey ?
