Default Warranty Question

My 2016 GTS has 25000 miles and is still under warranty. The exhaust tips are a flat black color but the finish is starting to peel off on 2 of the 4 tips. Shouldn’t this be something that is covered under warranty? Interesting how it is only the outboard tips affected. I also need to wash the car.

Outboard tips are always open versus the inboard tips which are only open with Sport Exhaust mode ON.

If my car was still under warranty I'd bring it in and have them take a look at it - sure doesn't seem like it's made to last. Good luck!

I brought the car in so the service advisor could look. They brought over the Warranty administrator who said it isn’t covered. I have called customer commitment at Porsche to get their input. The woman I spoke with seemed very interested in helping. In a couple of days I should have an answer. I am surprised that I had to go that route and that it wasn’t covered. Considering I have bought 5 Porsches over the last 25 years I would hope that customer loyalty still means something. We will see

Spoke with the customer commitment person today. I am encouraged that although this is apparently not covered under warranty, both the dealership and Porsche are trying to come up with a solution that I will be happy with. It seems as though they do want to make me happy and fix the issue. We will see what they come up with.

Looks like I am going to get a $200.00 Voucher from Porsche to be used to repaint the exhaust tips. Apparently this will cover the cost if I have the dealership take care of it in their body shop. I would have preferred that they be replaced but I guess it is better than nothing since this is not a warranty item.

Hm, each one of those OEM exhaust tips are about $400 MSRP ($300 discounted). Reasonable compensation if the repaint adheres. Good luck.
