MY19 Panny sitting at port
#19
Viking Conquest is currently anchored off Galveston. Schedule to land tomorrow morning at port for offloading. Hope I will get some level of update on Sat. Curious if shutdown is cause of delay for you.

My 19 Panamera arrived at the Jacksonville port 10 days ago and has cleared customs. But, today, my sales rep told me that it was one of 38 cars chosen at random by Porsche to undergo further quality tests. I was told that it should be to the dealer by the end of the month. He says that this additional random testing is done all the time. Why would there be additional testing at the port? Shouldn't tests be done in Germany and at the dealer? Not sure that this makes sense.

Burning Brakes
I'd be surprised if anybody in North America gets a 2019 Porsche (or any 2019 European-made car) in less than a few months, because I'm pretty sure that EPA has to sign off on the new particulate emissions filters installed in all 2019 Porsches. And EPA is shut down for now, and there will be a big back log if/when the US Government ever starts working again...

Burning Brakes
For those of you with cars awaiting clearance at port, or who've ordered a new 2019 Porsche, please update us here when you finally get your new vehicles. I've been waiting to place a new order, not wanting my new Porsche to sit in port for weeks or months...

I also spoke to PCNA today. All the rep could tell me is that it shows that my car, which arrived on Jan 9, is in Quality Control and shows an anticipated release date of Jan 18 - Feb 1. They aren't informing dealers or customers of anything more. I heard (not on that call) that a memo went out saying that if they are delayed more than 30 days, they will offer one additional free maintenance service. If the wait extends to 60 days, it will be 3 years maintenance. Such a memo would seem to indicate that they expect that the wait will go on. I had moved money to pay for the car, so it sat in a non-interest bearing checking account for three weeks. I transferred it out today, because I have no confidence that the car is coming in the time frame set by PCNA. It would be nice if they would just let the dealers and customers know what is going on, so we can plan properly.

There's a stop sale order on a bunch of Panamera's built in Q4 2018. I had bought one and the dealer told me it wasn't drivable until a replacement part was available for a brake component, which part isn't available yet. My car is sitting at the dealer grounded and I'm driving a loaner. Granted the dealer treated me well but there's a total lack of disclosure from Porsche about what is the basis for this stop sale/grounding order. If a replacement part isn't available yet to fix my car, I wonder how they're making 2019s.
