Sport Design Package
#31
This move seems controversial. However, I had the lower trim pieces painted to match. It doesn’t look as good as the sport design kit, but I think improves the look dramatically for a fraction of the price. I would have ordered the sport design kit, but I took this one off the lot.
When I configured the car, I didn't feel the need to spend extra on the rear sport bumper as I've always liked the contrast of the bottom diffuser in black or CF. Now looking at these beautiful cars, I wouldn't mind painting my rear bottom diffuser to match my body color.

Painted always looks better but for some reason i think it makes the car look a little bloated. Especially with a lighter colorled car. It loses a little of the sleek profile now that the paint goes all the way down. I’ve been contemplating this painted in a new GTS configuration and find it harder to decide weather to pull the tigger. It’s only a $420 option in the new GTS to have the fully painted sport design package (standard is sport design with front lip, sides and rear valence in black plastic). So obviously is not a factor, plus it glosses out the front grill which I love. Plus I don’t have to worry about that front lip getting scratches dented, etc. It’s very easy to scuff it or tap something. I only keep cars for 2 years anyway so long term doesn’t matter. I had a cayenne GTS and eventually you will get rock chips in the rear especially.
On my 2017 4S I always envied the painted bottoms and side now I’m torn.

haven’t ordered yet. My guy hasn’t gotten back to me to see if I can order it yet. Looks great thanks. I’m going to order it since it’s only $420. But I do like how the dark sides slim out the car. The front and rear painted def looks better. Sill feel the rear painted bottom bloats the car, particularly with a lighter color. I want chalk.

What color is your car? I live in California and I saw a 2018 GT Silver Metallic in Illinois that I am considering. I really like your exterior color. Thanks in advance for your help with this.

Thanks! It is a beautiful car. I am working with a dealer in Chicago and hope to have mine shortly. A little bit of a hassle here in California buying a car out-of-state but I am willing for the right car. Enjoy your car!

Yup. Back in 2014, I found just the right unique Cayenne Diesel, Carmine Red with Luxor Beige and black interior, that I was looking for. Trouble was that the car was at Porsche Salt Lake City. If you're lucky to hook up with a good SA and GM, the negotiation and purchase goes nice and smooth. Flew one way to pick it up and drove it back to LA too! Ah bonding time. The only part that was kinda painful, since the out-of-state doesn't collect sales tax, was writing that large check for tax & registration to the DMV, lol.
