Default Going to pick up our 2013 GTS tomorrow

Flying to Chicago to pick up the 'new' baby tomorrow. Then I get to drive 3 hrs home, should be a fun get to know you trip. The GTS has been immaculately kept, great service records and decently low miles (54,000).

Fell in love with Porsches long ago - my brother had a 912 years ago - a blast to drive even if it was the poor man's Porsche. My wife and I bought a 2005 Cayenne almost 10 years ago and it's been rock solid. We're finally at a point in life where we can afford a little bit more of a 'fun' car without sacrificing the family seating.

I feel like a kid on Christmas eve, I'll post picks when I get back from my trip. Wish me luck!

Awesome! I am shopping for one as well. Did you buy from a dealer or a private party? Any insight into the car shopping/buying process?

Congrats ! I just picked up a 2013 S as a CPO from a Porsche dealer. Mine has 24K miles and looks brand new in all aspects.

Bought from a dealer - Non Porsche though. This dealer seems to deal with a lot of exotic and imports. Came across the listing on cars.com. Test drove a 2010 Panamera Turbo locally and loved the car but they wanted $48k for 87k miles. Was able to find ours for less than that with 30,000 less miles. All I can say is ask a lot of questions and do your research. Larger markets like Chicago, NEw York, LA will have better selections than little old Battle Creek, where I live, so cast your net wide.

We we also purchased an after market warranty, I know there are a variety of opinions here on whether they are worth it, but everything I find points to me being risk averse and willing to pay for peace of mind. Buying used is always a risk, but a good warranty reduces that risk in my eyes.

Good luck with your search.

Nice. I was hoping for a CPO vehicle but only ones I found were just out of or price range. Sounds like you found a great deal though. Congrats!

Yes the cpo panos seem to be few and far between. There were about 8-10 of the V8 S models nationally a few weeks back. And none with such low miles. Even fewer gts and turbo nationally and agreed the price point was out of reach for me too - in the $70K+ range. I have too many other cars to justify spending that much.

Here she is @ the dealership. Had a great drive home, weather was good, roads were nice, not too many crazy people driving. Had on souped up little Neon road racer cut me off and want to race, just waved and let him pass. No reason to be crazy on the first trip with this car.

Managed to get 24.5mpg @ an average speed of 77mph. Not too shabby. It's fun playing with the Regular vs Sport vs Sport+ setup while on the highway- it really is very noticeable how different each mode feels. I'm impressed with how you can have 3 cars in one. This is going to be a fun ride. Now just to find some local SW Michigan roads that aren't filled with wheel eating potholes.....

I'll post more pics as I get some good ones.

Really fun car to drive, to bad life & work is too busy right now to just take off for an afternoon and drive. I do get to take it to Detroit this weekend for a work related conference... hahah

The couple times I've been able to take it out it always gets complimented. My daughter was upset when it rained the other day and my wife dropped her off at school in the Cayenne, who knew 7 year olds were so car conscious.

As far as being safe, yep I'm old enough now to know the difference between silly, stupid, and deadly stupid. Too much invested in my family, business and brain to risk any of it.
