Default buying extended warranty options

hello,
i plan to pick up a 2010 panamera 4s from a private seller and it is my first time buying a warranty for any of my cars. how do i go about it and what are my options? prior to this i went to a used car dealer as i was looking at another panamera and asked about the extended warranty. he offered me red shield protection plan. 2 years/24k miles for about $4000 with a $100 deductible. Seeing as i'm now purchasing from a private owner, how would i go about purchasing an extended warranty. any recommendations and can i just get a quote online or do i have to call? i checked out the red shield website but didnt see anywhere i can get a quote or buy a plan anywhere.

Check with Costco, I purchased my extended through them after my 2010 new car warranty ran out, had a problem a year ago with the air suspension and it was fixed and paid for expeditiously .

do you have a link handy? i went on costco's website but do not see anything other than auto insurance or 15% off some parts.

Get a quote from AutoPOM. I just got an exclusionary warranty from them for a 2011 4S for about $3,400 good for 4 years or up to 100k on the clock.

teemason over on 6speedonline has " Fidelity warranty purchased from Porschewest in Houston,TX. " he used it successfully to get his fuel pump replaced, said he had no issues doing so.

this is such a common and important question I would like to see a sticky made for it, someplace that people could post what they got and their experiences with it, that way we would need 100 threads on basically the same subject :-)

If it were any other type of vehicle I would say that's expensive but on these 970s, anything between $3500 and $6000 for an extended warranty over the next $100k miles is a good deal. My 970TT has had all services up to date out of pocket and the last 12 months worth of service record bills tally trumps that in a second.

Good luck selecting the appropriate plan and please share. Thanks.
